Dr. Al-Sayed Reviews Humanitarian Stories in Misk Festival
As a part of the Royal Charity Organization (RCO) participation in Hakaya Misk Festival, and within his lecture which addressed Hakaya AlMorabteen, His Excellency Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed the Secretary General of RCO reviewed many of the humanitarian situations and stories which he came across during his relief trips to provide the Kingdom’s help to the afflicted countries.
His Excellency indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the first countries to give its aid, as it was the first country to provide humanitarian assistance to the sector in Gaza after the First Gaza War, which was highly appraised by all the countries and the mass media. Also, Bahrain was one of the first countries to provide relief aid to Yemen during the Yemeni war and sent the first patch of one thousand tons of relief aid, which His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa himself received and distributed to the people in need.
Also, he confirmed that His Majesty and His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa treat the children of the martyrs as their own, as they welcome them all the time, and provide them with everything they need including love, tenderness and affection. And he said, “We are taking a new step to figure out how to plant proper thinking in the Arab & Islamic society, as well as well-being, filling people’s hearts with love and compassion, and keeping them out of violence and murder and other improper acts which caused all these massacres.”
Furthermore, His Excellency said that His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad is the ideal example of an integrated military commander, as despite his defense of his homeland, his religion and Arabism, he never forgot humanity and compassion, and sent aid and supervised the distribution of it in the danger zones himself, and there are many examples of that. Stressing that what distinguishes His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa is his speed in decision making and his constant support to charity work. As in one of our visits to one of the poor countries we found 4000 people who needed blindness treatment, the cost of saving one person being $60, so I contacted His Highness who directly and without hesitation made orders to pay the full amount, which was about $250,000.
Also, His Excellency indicated that work is ongoing on signing an agreement to establish a Heart Center in Yemen within days, due to the need of Yemeni people of such center. Noting that he had always led the relief shipments to the danger zones to ensure the arrival of aid to those in need, describing the task as a difficult one, and as Al-Sayed pointed out that RCO was the first to arrive in Aden after the liberation, and despite the seriousness of the situation, it was keen to deliver aid to that city.
Moreover, His Excellency Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed indicated that he was done with writing his book “Principles of Humanitarian Action” which will be adopted as a curriculum in Bahrain and GCC countries as well as in Egypt. Indicating that the book calls for and teaches the way to solve problems through debate, kindness, human emotions and reason, and the primacy of language of debate over the language of violence and murder.
Also, he stressed that a person who does good will feel a huge joy that cannot be described, “We work day and night, and we hope that the youth understands the meaning and the spirit of voluntary work, as it’s an immeasurable pleasure.” He said.
And he expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia on all its humane attitudes, and mentioned that Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah has recently announced in the Geneva Conference donating 1 billion dollars to support the Yemeni brothers without any discrimination between the communities and the regions, as humanitarian work doesn’t discriminate between one person and another.
